Is it ever ok to have ongoing therapy if the process is really helping a client?

Question: Is it ever ok to have ongoing therapy if the process is really helping a client? It seems the norm is "finish treatment" and terminate, but what if the client deals with ongoing depression and anxiety, and also has stressful ongoing situations? Answered by Sharyn Wolf, LCSW-R, author of 6 books "There are people that I have seen for years because it enables them to remain stable, connected and overall happier with life. Although we have better ways of treating emotional injuries some do better with ongoing psychotherapy." Found on Quora
