There is new science that is challenging the idea that nothing you do can lower your chances of getting Alzheimer's. Key risk factors,such as age, race, and gender have been know for a while and they remain part of the equation. But, recent research has identified other potential contributors, such as your genes, family history, diabetes and smoking. An estimated one-third to two-thirds of Alzheimer's cases can be things that are under your control.
