Did you know?

The first city in America to officially hold a Halloween celebration was Anoke Minnesota in 1920.  It was held in an effort to divert kids from pulling pranks like tipping over outhouses and letting cows loose to run around on Main St.  A parade was organized by the town.  They spent weeks prior planning and making costumes.  Popcorn, peanuts and candy were given to children who participated in the event.  This was followed by a huge bonfire in the town square.           Anoke Mn.
