Are the signs of domestic abuse different for men than women?

The signs of domestic abuse for men are often the same, whether the abusive partner is a woman or another man. It may be emotional, verbal or physical. For emotional, the abuser may take away keys, medicines or other essentials. Things like constantly putting you down in public or on social media are examples of verbal abuse. For physical abuse, the abuser may try to make up differences in strength by attacking the victim in their sleep, by surprise or with weapons and other objects. Abusing their children and pets are common also.
