New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals how opioids are a growing problem for older Americans. Deaths from opioid overdoses have nearly quadrupled overall since 2000. For people age 55 and older, the increase has been much greater. From 2000 to 2015: Ages 44-54 opioid overdoes increased by 3x Ages 55-74 they increased 8x ages 64-74 they increased 7x
