Food Waste in America

In fast food restaurants, 9.55% of the total amount of food that is used turns into food waste.  In full-service restaurants, 3.11% turns into waste.  Pre-consumer kitchen waste is anything from incorrectly prepared or spoiled food to over production that contributes to about 4-10% of food that becomes waste before it is even served to the consumer.
