Which would you choose?

When my mom was growing up, she had a close Jewish friend.  One day her friend asked her "If the  world was ending, would you go into a synagogue that was close?  Or would you take a chance and go to a church of your denomination.  You could make it safely into the synagogue.  But not sure if you could make it to the other church.  Would you take the chance?"  My mom didn't hesitate. She choose the synagogue.  Because to her it did not matter where she was God would listen to her prayers.  It was a place of worship.  He would listen just as well there as he would in the church farther away.  I agree with her.  What would you do?
